She Knits: Johanna’s Stocking

A new niece has graced the family, and she needed a stocking to coordinate with the ones I made her siblings. 🙂

Country Bumpkin Christmas Stocking by Me!

This stocking served as a fifth test-knit of my pattern. And I discovered a few errors I need to correct. Thanks, Johanna! 🙂

I had to adjust the design text to get her name to fit on the front. I ended up making the N’s 4 stitches wide instead of the 5 I’d written for the pattern.

The stranded colorwork on the cuff was much easier to knit this time thanks to a yarn stranding guide I purchased recently. A yarn guide or yarn stranding guide is a thimble worn on the tension finger that separates the strands of yarn being used in the work. It will take more practice for me to be comfortable using it, but I noticed a marked improvement in my tension and the ease of working the colorwork sections.
