She Knits: Sprout’s Winter Cardigan

I was given some lovely yarn and a baby knits pattern book recently and decided to knit up this cardigan for Sprout.

Progression
Started — December 30
Completed — January 2

Pattern Info
Design H – Cardies by Sirdar Spinning Ltd.
Sirdar Snuggly Baby Crofter DK 1933

This pattern is found in a baby knits booklet given to me. It is a round-yoke cardigan knit in flat pieces. This was a really good pattern, and I am sure I’ll get lots of use out of this pattern book in the future. 🙂 I knit the 6-12 month size with the expectation that this will fit her sometime next winter.

Yarn Info
Sirdar Snuggly Crofter Baby Fair Isle Effect DK
55% nylon, 45% acrylic
1.68 skeins = 300.7 yds used

This yarn is dyed so that it will create a fair isle effect when knit. This sweater is knit in pieces, which is why the colors don’t match perfectly along the front, for example. I enjoyed working with this yarn and expect it to wear very well.
