Cassie’s socks are halfway done! I bound off the first sock on Monday using Jeny’s Surprisingly Stretchy Bind-Off (JSSBO). This is a great bind-off for toe-up socks or neck openings or any other opening that needs stretch. It’s simple to do and very, very stretchy, while still springing back into place upon release.
I feel that after one sock, I can adequately express my opinions on this pattern. I love everything about it–literally! The toe is great, the chevrolace pattern is simple yet interesting, the eye of the partridge heel flap is wonderful. I love it all.
I think the fit of the socks will be perfect. I tried this one on, and it is a bit too narrow for me, but fits perfectly in the length. Cassie’s foot is an inch larger in circumference, but is the same length as mine–I call that success.
I don’t want to share too much because I’ll be blogging about these once the pair is done, but here are two sneak peek photos. For proof that it really is done, there’s a photo of the top of the ribbing cast off the needles. And there’s a photo of the heel, just because I like it so much.
